Rochester, NY — Russell Sage College women's soccer travelled on Saturday afternoon to Nazareth College for a battle of a pair of unbeaten league opponents. Nazareth earned a 3-0 win over the Gators to improve to 5-0 overall and 4-0 in the league on the year, while the loss puts RSC at 2-1 overall and 2-1 in the league.
Nazareth's Caleigh Cahoon scored a pair of goals in the first half to lift her team to the key league victory, while Alexandra Skoda added a single goal in the contest. She scored the first at the 9:20 mark on a feed from Shayla Scully. She added a second goal on a pass from Lena D'Amico at 23:48 to spot her team to the 2-0 lead at the break. Alexandra Skoda scored on a feed from Ashley Plane at 81:29 to seal the key league victory for her team.
Junior goalie Mickaela Buzzy (Oneonta, NY/Oneonta) made her return to the pitch for the Gators after missing last season with an injury. She made 10 saves in the contest, but suffered the loss. Nazareth's Gabrielle Pighetti made a pair of saves in earning the shutouts win.
The Gators are back in action at Alfred University on April 2 for a 4 p.m. Empire 8 contest.
