Kammerman leads Gators to opening day victory

Oneida, NY – Russell Sage College's men's golf team opened their fall season on Tuesday competing at the Keuka College Fall Invitational at Kanon Valley Country Club. The Gators won the team title and junior Shane Kammerman (Cortlandt Manor, NY/Walter Panas) took home the medalist title after he shot a 77 for the round.

Kammerman, who earned Empire 8 Third Team acclaim last season, picked up right where he left off a year ago after earning RSC's Gator of the Year honors.

Senior Austin Carpenter (Peru, NY/Peru) added an 82 for the day, while junior Elijah Waterhouse (Lake Luzerne, NY/Lake Luzerne) each posted an 83 for the day. Newcomer Ryan Arp (Greenville, NY/Greenville CAD) also had an 83 for the event, while rookie Dylan Dzoik (Hopedale, MA/Hopedale) had an 86. Junior Alex Burns (Selden, NY/Newfield) shot an 89 for the day and sophomore SamShaw (Circero, NY/Cicero North Syracuse) carded 97.

The Gators are back in action on September 10 travelling to compete at the SUNY-Cobleskill Invitational, with a noon start at SUNY-Cobleskill C.C.
