Gators fall on the road to FSC in Skyline play

Farmingdale, NYThe Sage Colleges' men's basketball team travelled to Farmingdale State College for a Skyline Conference match-up on Saturday. FSC held a 44-13 lead at the break and Sage was unable to cut the Ram's commanding lead despite a strong second half performance. FSC improves to 8-8 overall and 8-3 in the Skyline, while Sage falls to 10-6 overall and is also 8-3 in the conference. With the loss, the Gators have dropped from first place in the league for the first time all season.

For the Gators, senior Andre Robinson (Fort Pierce, FL/Fort Pierce Westwood) added a team-best 12 points, while senior Jorrdan McCray (Orlando, FL/Wekiva) finished with 11 points.

Junior Marcus Patterson (Bronx, NY/Mount Saint Michael Academy) added seven points and senior forward Melvin Ford (Voorhees, NJ/Eastern Regional) connected for a team-best nine rebounds, but was held to just four points.  Ford contributes two blocks and three steals in the contest. Ford, who now has 885 career points and is the Gators' third all-time leading scorer, while holding the program's all-time leading rebounder with 657 boards. He ranks No. 5 all-time in career blocks with 53 after Saturday's action.

Junior guard Brett Ullman (Sharon Springs, NY/Sharon Springs Central) added one three-point field goal as he continues his climb for the program's all-time three-point mark. He has 94 three-pointers, just three shy of breaking the mark held by Pat Lanoue (96, 2010-2012).

The Gators are back in action on the road at St. Joseph's College – Brooklyn for a 7:30 p.m. Skyline Conference contest on January 20.
