Troy, NY –The session scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 15 was POSTPONED! The new date for today's session will take place on Sunday, March 1. For more information or more details, please contact Sage women's soccer coach, Andrew Gamarra (518-650-4886).

The Sage Colleges' women's soccer team will hold a soccer training program for children, ages 5-12. Growing Gators will take place at the Neff Athletic Center in Troy and will take place from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. on January 18, 25, February 8, and March 1, 2015. The cost is $60 for all four training sessions. All proceeds will benefit the Sage Women's Soccer program.

The Sage Soccer training sessions are designed to provide kids with optimal technical development and individualized attention.  The program emphasizes specific skills----dribbling, passing, shooting and 1 v. 1 moves. Through the use of small-sided games, the coaching staff will be able to focus on these skills and ensure that each player is honing them.  Current student-athletes will be assigned to players so that they receive feedback and direction in real time, providing them with ample opportunities to implement the instruction they receive.

In his first year at Sage, Head Coach Andrew Gamarra directed the Gators to their best record in program history in the fall of 2014 (12-6-2). The Gators qualified for pair of post-season tournaments, advancing to the semifinals of the Skyline Conference and ECAC Metro Division III Tournaments. Assistant Coach Chukuma Asala has been part of the Gator staff for two seasons and is an integral part of the Albany community. He is an assistant director of admissions at Sage and also coaches at the Bethlehem Soccer Club. Tim Madden is a graduate of Sage and a former player for the Sage men's soccer.  Deanna Romanowski is a graduate of SUNY Postdam, where she competed on their women's team. The coaching staff  will give participants a well-rounded approach to the game of soccer.
