New York, NY – The Sage Colleges' women's and men's cross country teams each had a performer honored for their efforts this past week in conjunctions with their strong showings at the Green Mountain College Invitational. Sage's women's team just missed the team title finishing in second place, while the Gator men added a fourth place showing.

Sage's rookie Ilenis Quinones (Amsterdam, NY/Amsterdam) was named the Skyline Conference Female Rookie Runner of the Week, marking her second selection on the 2014 season. She posted a time of 20:49 and finished in third place at the 5 k race.

Named the Skyline Conference Male Runner of the Week, junior captain Juan Reyes-Alvarez (Latham, NY/Shaker) was honored for the first time this fall. He has been the Gators' top finisher at every meet this fall and just missed finishing as the champion at the Green Mountain College Invitational, as he took home second place behind his time of 27:26.

Sage's teams are back in action on October 26 travelling to the Milton, New York for the Hudson Valley Sports Dome for the 2014 Skyline Conference Championships. The women's race is at noon and the men's race follows at 1 p.m. as the Gators look for the programs' first league title.
