Deans rakes in weekly honors after garnering acclaim from Skyline and ECAC

New York, NY--Sage's men's basketball senior forward Kai Deans (Miami, FL/Monsignor Pace) was honored for the his play last week as the Gators went 2-0.

Deans missed just four shots (18-of-22) last week en route to putting up averages of 24 points and 7.5 rebounds in two wins. In a 106-81 win over the College of Mount Saint Vincent, the Skyline Player of the Week registered a program-record 33 points and collected 11 rebounds. Deans added 15 points in a win over Mount Saint Mary.

For his play, Deans was named the Skyline Conference Co-Player of the Week, his fourth selection for the honor. He was also named the ECAC Corvais Division III Metro Player of the Week for the second time this season.

Deans leads the team with his 18.6 ppg average, which is second highest in the Skyline. He sports an 8.9 rpg average, while sporting a 54.4% FG%. Deans ranks nationally in 13 different categories in the most recent release of the NCAA Div. 3 statistics. He is ranked in free throws attempted (No. 25), free throws made (No. 26), offensive rebounds (No. 47), defensive rebounds (No. 93), points per game (No. 71), rebounds per game (No. 56), total blocks (No. 132), field goals attempted (No. 240), field goals made (No. 93), total points (No. 83) and total rebounds (No. 64).
