Troy, NY--- Sage's senior forward Rebecca Marszalek (Adams, MA/Hoosac Valley) was rewarded for her play last week with her selection as the Skyline Conference Women's Soccer Player of the Week. She capped a busy week with seven points on three goals and an assist. Her last goal of the week, was her 48th career goal for Marsalek tying Sage's all-time career goal scoring mark. She is also closing in the all-time points record (111 pts.) as she has 106 points (48 goals and 10 assists). On the 2011 season, she leads Sage with 11 points on five goals and an assist. She earned Skyline Conference Player of the Week honors for the week.
Marszalek shares the record for goals with Kelley Richer (48 goals, 1991-1994). Richer holds the career points mark as well with 111 on 48 goals and 15 assists, a mark Marszalek is rapidly closing on this week.
She will get a chance to break the mark on Tuesday, September 20 when the Gators host the Bears of SUNY-Potsdam at 7:30 p.m. at nearby RPI's Renwyck Field.
