Glenmont, NY---The Sage's women's soccer team hosted the Raptors of Bard College on Wednesday afternoon in a non-conference match. Bard tallied a 4-0 win to improve 2-3 overall, while Sage drops to 1-1 on the young season.
Junior forward Abby de Uriate (Sicklerville, NJ/Timber Creek) scored the game-winning goal as she put the Raptors up 1-0 with her first goal of the season at 5:36. Rookie Joanna Regan (Selden, NY/Newfield) scored on a feed from sophomore Maddy Huggins (Mukilteo, WA/Archbishop Murphy) at 27:18. Bard led 3-0 at the half as freshman midfielder Megan Snyder (York, PA/Eastern York) scored at 34:55.
Sophomore Neena Marano (Jeffersonville, PA/Villa Maria Academy) closed the scoring with her first goal on the season at 60:56.
Sage's junior Grace Collett (Watervliet, NY/Watervliet) made her first career appearance in goal and suffered the setback as she made seven saves on 17 shots. Bard's sophomore Amy Strawbridge (Indianapolis, IN/University) picked up her first win of the season as she made three saves and shared time in goal with junior Lena James (Atlanta, GA/Henry W. Grady).
Sage returns to action on September 17 hosting the College of Mt. Saint Vincent at 1 p.m. at the Bethlehem SoccerPlex for the team's Skyline Conference opener.
