Troy, NY--- Junior forward Rebecca Marszalek (Adams, MA/Hoosac Valley) was named to the 2010 Skyline Conference Women’s Soccer All-Star First Team on Wednesday. Sage’s leading scorer earned her second straight selection to the First Team as the 2010 Gators collected the program’s fourth straight Skyline Conference Tournament bid after an 8-8 season.
On the 2010 season, Sage’s offense was lead once again by Marszalek as the junior tallied a team-leading 14 goals and 32 points. She added four assists this season with four game-winning goals. On her career, she has elevated her career resume’s numbers to include 43 goals, 9 assists and 95 points. She is closing in on the career goals mark as she is just five away from tying the record set by Kelley Richer (48, 1991-1994). She is also 16 points shy of Richer’s career points record of 111.
She finished the year ranked among the top scorers in the Skyline Conference as she stands in third in the league in points per game (ppg) (2.13), while standing third in goals per game (0.93), and second in game-winners (0.27).
In addition, she ranks among the leaders as well in the NCAA Division III Women’s Soccer statistics as she checks in at the No. 40 spot in goals per game, No. 51 in points per game and No. 101 in total points. The NCAA ranks the Top 150 in these three statistical categories.
