Sage falls on the road to Kean in women's lacrosse action

Union, NJ--The Gators of The Sage Colleges' travelled to New Jersey to face the Cougars of Kean University on Thursday night. Kean jumped out to a 14-0 lead at the half and by game's end had an 18-2 win under their belts. Kean improves to 1-5, while Sage drops to 0-4.

Kean's Meghan Scnheck racked up five goals in the contest to pace the Cougars, while Samantha Gnapp added three goals and an assist and Jordan Blanda scored three goals in the contest.

Sage's senior Shannon Rossi (Niskayuna, NY/Colonie) had a goal and an assist in the contest, while graduate student Shirah Fudin (Delmar, NY/Bethlehem Central) tallied one goal. On the season, Fudin leads Sage with her 13 goals and one assist. Fudin now has 27 career points on 25 goals with 2 assists and is No. 6 in career points at Sage.

Sage's tandem of sophomore Jackie St. Pierre (Averill Park, NY/Averill Park) and sophomore Chelsea Hunt (Verplanck, NY/Hendrick Hudson) shared time in goal.  St. Pierre had three saves with 12 goals allowed, while Hunt made two saves with six goals allowed.

 

Sage returns to action on March 28 travelling to St. Joseph's College (LI) for a 1 p.m. Skyline Conference contest on Saturday.
