HOUGHTON, N.Y. – Russell Sage College totaled two school records and nine top-seven finishes at this weekend's Empire 8 Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships, hosted by Houghton University.
Senior Mackenzie Feeney (Saugerties, NY/Saugerties) decreased the program standard in the mile with a time of 5:29.61, good for fifth place.
She teamed up with senior Giuliana Capparello (Fonda, NY/Fonda-Futlonville), and sophomores Charisma Losee (Troy, NY/Lansingburgh) and Tirzah Spivey (Clifton Park, NY/Schenectady) to tally a fifth-place showing in the DMR with a 14:40.77 clocking.
Junior Elizabeth Ingellis (Kingston, NY/Kingston) registered the highest finish at the meet for the Gators. She was fourth in the 5,000m with a time of 19:10.21 and was seventh in the 3,000m with a time of 11:02.85.
On the men's side, freshman Kyle Coyne (Castleton, NY/Maple Hill) lowered his school record in the 60m hurdles with a time of 9.32.
Junior David Adadjo (Nassau, NY/Columbia) sprinted 400m in 52.04 to take sixth, and finished seventh in the triple jump with a leap of 12.32m.
The RSC Women's Team finished in sixth place with eight points, while the Gator Men were seventh. Nazareth captured both team titles.
Select Gators that qualified will compete at the All-Atlantic Regional Track and Field Championships next weekend.
Gator Bites: RSC set 12 indoor program records this season…Ingellis, who lowered her program records in the 3,000m and 5,000m runs, was selected the E8 Women’s Track Athlete of the Week for the period ending Sunday, January 28.
