RSC GOLFERS OPEN PLAY AT 2021 EMPIRE 8 CHAMPIONSHIPS; TWO GATORS IN TOP 10

Baldwinsville, NY—Russell Sage College's men's golf team opened play on Saturday at the 2021 Empire 8 Golf Championship. The two-day event is taking place at Timber Banks Country Club, a par 72 6,739 yard course.  Utica stands in first after day with a team score of 308 in the six-team field.

For the Gators , senior Blake Pritchard (Malone, NY/Franklin Academy) stands in fifth place overall with an opening day 78, just six over par. Junior Aidan O'Neil (Canajoharie, NY/Canajoharie) is tied for seventh after he carded an 82.

Junior Stuart Phair (Canberra, Australia/Trinity Christian School) is tied for 20^th with an 89 and senior Ethan Peters (Hudson, NY/Hudson) had a round of 135.

Utica's Josh Kienz holds the lead in the club house after day one as he shot a 73 for the round.

Action wraps on Sunday with an 11 a.m. tee time.
