ALBANY, N.Y. – Russell Sage College senior right side Caitlin Hammecker (Warnerville, NY/Cobleskill-Richmondville) earned a spot on the 2023 Academic All-District® Women's Volleyball teams, selected by College Sports Communicators.
Hammecker totaled 141 kills, 1.74 per-set, 109 digs, 30 blocks, 20 aces, and four assists across 81 sets this fall. The criminal justice, law, and behavioral science major registered double-digit kills four times during her senior campaign, including a career-high 17 kills on .333 hitting in the win vs. SUNY Potsdam on September 2.
She has made the Empire 8 Conference Presidents' list multiple times during her time as an undergrad.
The 2023 Academic All-District® Women's Volleyball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
Academic All-District® honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® Team. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced Jan. 9, 2024.
