ALBANY, N.Y. – Russell Sage College registered a school record, an event victory, and 22 top-ten finishes at this afternoon's UAlbany Spring Classic.
Junior Elizabeth Ingellis (Kingston, NY/Kingston) completed 5,000m first with a time of 19:06.61, while freshman Mercedez Cecelia-Storey (Pine Hill, NY/Onteora) broke the program record in the hammer throw with a toss of 31.21m.
Following the completion of the RSC men's volleyball campaign, freshman Dylan Fox (Albany, NY/Colonie) made his debut on the track and was third in the triple jump with an 11.90m leap. The rookie was seventh in the 200m dash with a time of 23.51.
Freshman Ethan Turner (Bridgeton, NJ/Cumberland Regional) took fourth in the 400m run with a 53.93 clocking, while junior Randal Johnson (East Orange, NJ/East Orange) achieved a fourth-place showing in the hammer throw with a mark of 32.78m.
The Gators stay local for their next meet, the Capital District Classic, hosted by RPI on Friday, April 26.
Gator Bites: After setting 13 indoor program records, the Gators established three school outdoor records on Saturday, March 30 at Hamilton…Junior Elizabeth Ingellis (Kingston, NY/Kingston) was tabbed the Empire 8 Conference Women’s Track Athlete of the Week for the period ending Sunday, April 8…She won the 10,000m run at Utica with a time of 39:04.82…The clocking qualified the junior for the Regional Championships.
