Gators Celebrates Seniors Before 7-1 Victory

ALBANY, N.Y. – Russell Sage College got out to a 4-0 lead en route to defeating The Pratt Institute 7-1 tonight.

Senior forwards Marissa Key (Monroe, NY/Monroe-Woodbury), and Kennedy Jones (Albany, NY/Albany), two of the six Gators that were recognized in the "Senior Night" ceremony prior to kickoff, helped RSC (7-4-3) cruise.

Key registered two goals and two assists, while Jones recorded two goals in a 9:50 span and one assist.

The Gators out-shot Pratt (5-4-1) 25-5, including 13-3 on-goal, and held a 7-0 advantage on corner kicks during the home victory. 

After a pair of non-conference wins, RSC returns to Empire 8 Conference play on Saturday afternoon vs. Nazareth. Start time is set for 1:00 pm.


Senior Night: Before the contest, RSC Athletics recognized: senior defender Allison Basila (Queensbury, NY/Queensbury), senior defender Aimee Warman (Rexford, NY/Shenendehowa), Key, Jones, senior midfielder Delaney Burton (Averill Park, NY/Averill Park), and senior midfielder Kaitlyn Silk (Freehold, NY/Greenville) for their contributions to the women's soccer program.


Notes: Coming off a trip to the Empire 8 Conference Tournament Semifinals, more than 20 players and four all-league selections returned this fall…A Gator has earned weekly E8 awards five times this season…Senior forward Jones was selected the E8 Player of the Week for the period ending Monday, September 4…The second-team All-E8 pick registered two goals and an assist to help RSC win its home opener vs. Nichols on September 2…Sophomore defender Courtney Bush (Schenectady, NY/Mohonasen) was chosen the E8 Defensive Player of the Week on two occasions, September 10 and September 25, this fall…Sophomore defender Olivia Badalucco (Rotterdam Junction, NY/Schalmont) took home E8 Player of the Week honors on September 18…She scored twice in the September 13 8-0 shutout of visiting SUNY Poly…The output was the most for the Gators in a single-game since 2017….Freshman goalkeeper Olivia Horan (Mechanicville, NY/Mechanicville) was named the E8 Defensive Player of the Week on October 2…The rookie registered three saves across pair of conference clean sheets…Jones, Bush, Key, and junior defender Amelia Geesler (Glenmont, NY/Bethlehem Central) headlined the group of returnees.
