Gators Feature Balanced Offense Against Alfred

ALBANY, N.Y. – Russell Sage College had five players with at least four points in this afternoon's 46-30 Empire 8 Conference loss to visiting Alfred.

Sophomore guard Layla Acosta (Haines City, FL/Haines City) paced the Gators (4-11/2-4 E8) with nine points and nine rebounds.

Sophomore forward Allison Louque (Westminster, MD/Winters Mills) added six points, while junior guard Angelina Schaefer (Latham, NY/Shaker), freshman forward Kallie Hopkins (Millsboro, DE/Poly Tech), and junior guard Olivia Huneau (Cohoes, NY/Cohoes) scored four points each.

The Saxons capitalized upon a 16-6 run spanning the first and second periods to head into the locker up 27-18. 

Alfred (5-9/1-5 E8), which came up with 21 offensive rebounds to hold a 54-36 advantage on the boards, led by as many as 18 in the second half.

Senior guard Grace Rittenhouse recorded a double-double of 14 points on 6-of-14 shooting and 12 rebounds for the victors. 

RSC hosts Hartwick on Wednesday at 5:30 PM.
