SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – Russell Sage College had three players score in twin figures in this evening's 71-45 non-conference loss at Skidmore.
Junior guard Malena Gereau (Schroon Lake, NY/Schroon Lake Central) topped the Gators with a career-high 15 points on 6-of-10 shooting in their season opener. She added three rebounds, two assists and two steals.
Junior guard Lauren Sanderson (Ravena, NY/RCS) and sophomore guard Layla Acosta (Haines City, FL/Haines City) added 12 points apiece.
Junior guard Andi Levitz paced Skidmore (1-0), which led 21-6 after the opening period, with 18 points. Senior forward Julia Blanck contributed a double-double of 17 points on 6-of-6 shooting and 12 rebounds, three blocks, two steals and two assists.
Looking ahead, RSC (0-1) is participating in the University of Saint Joseph (Conn.) Tip-Off Tournament on November 17-18.
