RSC Drops E8 Doubleheader at SJFU

HONEOYE FALLS, N.Y. – Russell Sage College dropped both ends of Saturday's Empire 8 Conference doubleheader at Saint John Fisher. The Cardinals, now winners of six in-a-row, were victorious by scores of 8-4 and 10-1 (5 innings).

A four-run fourth helped SJFU (16-4/4-0 E8) get out to an 8-2 lead after five in the opener.

Senior outfielder Isabella Vano (Yorktown Heights, NY/Yorktown) and sophomore infielder Ciana Santana (East Meadow, NY/East Meadow) each had two hits and an RBI to pace the RSC bats.

In the nightcap, junior outfielder Madalyn Ring (Gansevoort, NY/South Glens Falls) went 2-for-3 with a run scored, while sophomore catcher/outfielder Emma Heartquist (Stuyvesant, NY/Ichabod Crane) went 2-for-2.

Junior centerfielder Maddie Donlin went a combined 4-for-7 with a run scored and six RBI to help the Cardinals sweep.

RSC (5-15/1-3 E8) is back in action on Tuesday as they head back to Rochester, this time for a doubleheader with Nazareth starting at 3 PM.
