CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. – Russell Sage College started Empire 8 Conference play by splitting this afternoon's home doubleheader with Keuka.

The Gators tallied 12 hits and put a crooked number on the scoreboard in every inning to take the opener 8-0 (5 innings).

Sophomore pitcher Leah Madore (Williamsville, VT/Brattleboro Union) whiffed 12 Wolves in her three-hit shutout victory (2-6).

Freshman infielder Annalise Tyler (Schenectady, NY/Schalmont), and junior designated player Serina Garmendiz (Hempstead, NC/Pine Bush) each went 2-for-2, while senior outfielder Isabella Vano (Yorktown Heights, NY/Yorktown) opened the scoring with a two-run double.

Keuka (3-10/1-1 E8) salvaged the split with a 6-3 win in the second game.

A five-run second inning for the Wolves proved to be the difference.

Freshman infielder/outfielder Emily O’Keefe (Albany, NY/Albany) went 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles and an RBI to lead the Gators in the nightcap.

Looking ahead, RSC (4-12/1-1 E8) has a non-conference doubleheader scheduled for Wednesday afternoon at Skidmore.  First pitch is slated for 3:00 pm.
