Gators Back in Win Column with Doubleheader Split

LEESBURG, Fla. – Russell Sage College split their doubleheader on Thursday with Allegheny and Penn State Behrend. 

Pitcher Leah Madore (Williamsville, VT/Brattleboro Union) contributed a strong start to lead the Gators to a 3-1 victory over Penn State Behrend in game two. 

The sophomore went the distance punching out five while only administering one free pass and allowing one run. 

Sophomore infielder Ciana Santana (East Meadow, NY/East Meadow) contributed two hits and a run in the victory. Freshman infielder Allison Kenyon (Mechanicville, NY/Mechanicville) and junior outfielder Madalyn Ring (Gansevoort, NY/South Glens Falls) each pushed a teammate across the plate to help get the Gators back in the win column.

RSC opened the day with a 8-0 loss to the Gators of Allegheny (8-0).

Looking ahead, RSC (2-8) rests on Friday before concluding their spring break trip with an evening doubleheader with SUNY Fredonia and Hope on Saturday.
