Gators Have Final Prep for E8s

CLINTON, N.Y. – Russell Sage College had its final tune-up for next week's Empire 8 Conference Cross Country Championships at today's Hamilton Invitational.

The Gators had two runners finish in the top 20 out of 111 runners in the women's 4k.

Junior Elizabeth Ingellis (Kingston, NY/Kingston) was fifth with a time of 15:35.1, while senior Mackenzie Feeney (Saugerties, NY/Saugerties) took 18th with a time of 16:18.1.

Sophomore Hannah Maxson (Johnstown, NY/Johnstown) (67th - 19:09.7), senior Skylar Grybos (Amsterdam, NY/Amsterdam) (77th - 19:33.2), and junior Merideth Diegel (Albany, NY/Colonie) (110th - 28:16.8) rounded out the RSC competitors in the 111-person field.

The 19:46 average put RSC seventh out of 11 schools. 

Sophomore Christopher Pellegrini (Loudonville, NY/Colonie Central) topped the Gators in the men's 5k with a time of 19:43.8. The clocking was good for 69th out of 104 competitors.

Sophomore Robert Cusato (Schenectady, NY/Guilderland) finished 82nd with a time of 20:34.8, junior Isaac Langer (Hudson, NY/Taconic Hills) crossed the line 90th with a time of 21:21.9, while junior Jacob Haynes (Cambridge, NY/Cambridge Central) was 96th with a 23:33.8 clocking.

The E8 Championships will be held on Saturday at 11:00 am.


Notes: Ingellis was selected the Empire 8 Conference Runner of the Week twice this fall (9/5, 9/18)…She earned All-Conference honors in each of her previous two campaigns.
