IMMACULATA, Pa. – Russell Sage College returned to the win column with tonight's 3-1 (26-24, 25-16, 19-25, 36-34) non-conference victory at Immaculata.
Freshman outside hitter Dylan Fox (Albany, NY/Colonie) and senior opposite Wylkins Occelin (Brooklyn, NY/John Dewey) topped the Gators with 16 kills each. Fox registered five digs, while Occelin totaled two blocks.
Freshman opposite Spencer Cooper (Albany, NY/Colonie) aced eight serves, while junior setter Jack McWilliam (Fishkill, NY/Arlington) tallied 33 assists.
Freshman outside hitter Josh McGurl provided the Mighty Mac (2-11) with a double-double of 22 kills on .378 hitting and 10 digs.
The Gators (5-12), which ended a six-match slide, play again tomorrow night at Randolph Macon.
Gator Bites: 2024 marks the Gators first as members of the New England Volleyball Conference…League coaches picked RSC, under the direction of Reid Hartl, to finish sixth in the NEVC…The roster, which has six returnees from last season, boasts plenty of local flavor with eight student-athletes hailing from Section 2…Hartl, now in his third season, added seven newcomers to the roster, including four freshmen…Four grad students are the roster, including co-captains: libero Deshawn Fleary, (Newark, NJ/Immaculate Conception Montclair), and outside hitter Jarod Martel (Albany, NY/Colonie Central)…Fox was selected the NEVC Rookie of the Week twice this spring…He earned the accolade for the periods ending January 21 and February 11.
