Three School Records Fall in Outdoor Debut

HAMILTON, N.Y. – Coming off a four-week span in between team competitions, Russell Sage College began the outdoor portion of its campaign on Saturday at the Hamilton Continental Invitational.

The Gators totaled three school records and seven top-ten finishes, five individual and two relay, in their outdoor debut.

Junior Elizabeth Ingellis (Kingston, NY/Kingston) decreased the program standard in the 5,000m run with a time of 18:45.55, good for second out of 20 entries.

Sophomore Tirzah Spivey (Clifton Park, NY/Schenectady) lowered her RSC record in the 400m hurdles with a seventh-place finish of 1:12.91.

Senior Mackenzie Feeney (Saugerties, NY/Saugerties) took tenth in the 1500m run with a 5:16.62 clocking.

On the men's side, freshman Kyle Coyne (Castleton, NY/Maple Hill) established the school record in the 110m hurdles with a time of 16.92. The clocking put the rookie ninth out of 20 competitors.

Junior Kaiden Simpson (Bennington, VT/Mount Anthony Union) hurled the javelin 38.12m to take tenth.

RSC is back on the track Saturday at the Utica Pioneer Spring Invitational.
