Gators Set Five School Records at Utica

UTICA, N.Y. – Russell Sage College set five program records at Saturday's Utica Fast Trax Invitational.

Junior David Adadjo (Nassau, NY/Columbia) lowered his school standard in the 60m dash and registered three top-ten finishes at the meet. He sprinted 60m in 7.27 to finish ninth, was sixth out of 32 competitors in the 400m run with a time of 51.18, and completed 200m in 23.24, good for seventh out of 82 entries. 

Sophomore Chris Pellegrini (Loudonville, NY/Colonie Central) lowered his school record in the 600m with a time of 1:32.71, while sophomore Dominic Harkness (Morrisonville, NY/Saranac) established the RSC standard in the 300m run with a 39.58 clocking.

Junior Elizabeth Ingellis (Kingston, NY/Kingston), who was announced as the Empire 8 Conference Women's Track Athlete of the Week on Monday, had the highest RSC finish on the afternoon, coming in third out of 23 runners in the 3,000m run with a school-record time of 10:49.36.  The clocking bettered her program record by almost 15 seconds.

Sophomore Tirzah Spivey (Clifton Park, NY/Schenectady) put her name in the record book in the 300m run with a time of 48.74, good for ninth place.

As a team, the men finished 15th out of 20 competing institutions, while the women tied for 13th out of 20 schools.

Looking ahead, the Gators compete on Saturday at Middlebury.


Gator Bites: RSC, building toward the Empire 8 Conference Championships, to be held Feb. 23-24 at Houghton University, has set 11 program records this season…Ingellis, who has lowered her program standards in the 3,000m and 5,000m runs this winter, was selected the E8 Women's Track Athlete of the Week for the period ending Sunday, January 28...Pellegrini set the school records in the 600m and 1,000m runs.
