Middlebury, VT — The Russell Sage College men's indoor track and field team travelled to Middlebury College on Saturday competing in the Winterfell Meet at Virtue Field House. The day marked the debuts of RSC's new head coach Nick Jones at the helm of the young Gator programs.
In the men's team scoring, the Gators finished in seventh place with 24 points. The team crown went to Amherst College with a combined score of 153.50 points in the field of nine scoring teams.
RSC's junior captain John Coddington (Amsterdam, NY/Broadalbin-Perth) had a banner afternoon. He won the shot with his throw of 13.82 meters. He was also second in the weight throw with a mark of 14.83 meters.
Junior Joe Degiorgio (Troy, NY/Troy) set a school record with his time of 17:06.36 in the 5,000 meter run and finished in 11th place.
Rookie Isaac Langer (Hudson, NY/Taconic Hills) finished in ninth place in the 1,000 meter run with his time of 3:22.69.
In the 60 meter dash, freshman David Adadjo (Nassau, NY/Columbia) took third in his heat and finished 15th overall in 7.47. Junior Michael Cichy (Selkirk, NY/Broadalbin-Perth) posted a time of 8.21, while rookie Armon Khalek (Hudson, NY/Hudson) finished in 8.49 as the duo was 32nd and 33rd, respectively.
Senior Brett LaBier (Albany, NY/Colonie) posted a time of 5:52.74 to take home 38th in the mile run, while Langer posted a time of 3:22.69 to finish in ninth place in the 1,000 meter run.
In the men's 4 x 400 relay, RSC was 13th with a time of 4:08.94 as Adadjo led off the relay with Cichy, Langer and Khalek on the anchor.
