ALBANY, N.Y. – Russell Sage College had four players record multiple points in this afternoon's 28-11 Empire 8 Conference setback to visiting Nazareth.
Senior midfielder Shea Obado (Spotswood, NJ/Spotswood), one of eight student-athletes recognized in the pre-game "Senior Day" ceremony, topped the Gators with three goals.
Senior attackman Bailey Martin (Syracuse, NY/Onondaga Central) added two goals and two assists, while attackman Hunter Brunelle (Skaneateles, NY/Jordan-Elbridge), a grad student, registered two goals and an assist. Junior attackman Anthony Abreu (Monroe, NJ/Monroe Township) rounded out the quartet with a pair of goals.
Senior goalie Michael Capitelli (Oceanside, NY/Oceanside) and freshman goalie Erik Reynolds (South Glens Falls, NY/South Glens Falls) combined to stop nine Nazareth shots.
The visiting Golden Flyers (7-7/4-1 E8) outscored RSC 11-2 in the opening quarter on their way to the road victory. Attackman Brett Randall led Naz with five goals.
Looking ahead, RSC (6-9/1-4 E8) closes the regular season on Saturday at No. 5 St. John Fisher. Game time is slated for 1:00 pm.
Senior Day: Before today's game, Russell Sage College Athletics recognized eight student-athletes: defender Anthony Rafferty (Albany, NY/Colonie Central), midfielder Rich Everoski (Rockledge, FL/Sachem East), Obado, defender Joe Moreno (Cedar Grove, NJ/Cedar Grove), defender Liam Dowd (Staten Island, NY/Curtis), Martin, defender Jonathan Vil (Montgomery, NY/Valley Central), and Capitelli for their contributions to the men's lacrosse program.
