ELMIRA, N.Y. – Russell Sage College won the team championship at Tuesday's Elmira Spring Invitational, held at the par-72, 6,692 yard Elmira Country Club. The Gators totaled a 327, seven strokes better than second-place SUNY Oswego.
Freshman Ryan Arp (Greenville, NY/Greenville CAD), announced as the Empire 8 Conference Player of the Week on Monday, shot a 79 (+7) to earn runner-up for medalist honors. The rookie had four birdies during his round.
Juniors Elijah Waterhouse (Lake Luzerne, NY/Lake Luzerne) and Shane Kammerman (Cortlandt Manor, NY/Walter Panas) tied for fifth with an 82 (+10).
Senior Austin Carpenter (Peru, NY/Peru) carded an 84 (+12) to finish tenth, while junior Devin Gilbert (Kingston, NY/Kingston) rounded out the RSC contingent with an 87 (+15), good for 17th.
Looking ahead, the Gators are slated to tee it up at the SUNY Oswego Spring Invitational on Saturday and Sunday
