Carpenter Finishes Fifth at E8 Fall Championships

CAZENOVIA, N.Y. – A pair from Russell Sage College finished in the top 15 at the Empire 8 Conference Fall Championships, held on Sunday and Monday at Cazenovia Country Club, a par-71, 6,325-yard course.

Senior Austin Carpenter (Peru, NY/Peru) led the Gators with a two-day score of 158 (+16), good to tie for fifth out of 41 golfers. 

Freshman Ryan Arp (Greenville, NY/Greenville CAD) carded a 161 to finish tied for 14th.

Junior Shane Kammerman (Cortlandt Manor, NY/Walter Panas) was tied for 21st with a score of 165, while junior Elijah Waterhouse (Lake Luzerne, NY/Lake Luzerne) fired a 173 to finish tied for 32nd.

Rounding out the RSC competitors were: sophomore Sam Shaw (Cicero, NY/Cicero North Syracuse) (183, 38th) and freshman Dylan Dzoik (Hopedale, MA/Hopedale) (187, 40th).

Heading into the spring portion of the Tournament, the Gators sit fifth with a team score of 657 (+89). Saint John Fisher, the two-time defending E8 champions, currently leads with a +47. The Championship resumes April 13-14, 2024 at Hershey Country Club.
