ALBANY, N.Y. – Russell Sage College exploded for a season-best 112 points as they defeated the Wolves of Keuka College 112-92 on Friday night in Empire 8 action. The Gators move to 9-6 overall and 3-3 in the Empire 8, while Keuka drops to 0-10 overall and 0-2 in the league. The 112 points for RSC's men's team stands as the third most points scored in a contest.
Senior guard Jalon Borders (Bartow, FL/Bartow) led all players with his 26 points, a season best for the Gator who added 18 points in the first half of play as RSC led 61-59 at the break. Border was red hot, making 12-of-14 field goals as the team combined to shoot 53.1% from the floor (43-81) and held a 54-36 edge on the boards over Keuka.
All told, five Gators finished in double-digits, while senior forward/center Stuart Phair (Canberra, Australia/Tyler Christian School), who was named the E8 Player of the Week on Monday, added a double-double on 21 points and 13 rebounds. The double-double was his first of the season for the senior.
Senior guard Amani Cummings (Brooklyn, NY/Transit Tech) finished with 22 points and was 10-11 from the line, while freshman forward Todd Williamson (Schenectady, NY/Notre Dame Bishop Gibbons) finished with a career-best 14 points and eight rebounds. Senior forward/center Fethener Aime (Palm Coast, FL/Flagler Palm Coast) tallied 12 points with eight caroms and three assists.
Keuka had four players finish in double-digits as 11 different players scored in the match-up. Junior guard Devin Milton (Opelousas, LA/Beau Chene) connected for 17 points and shot 50.0% from the floor, making 7-of-14 field goals attempted. Junior guard Daniel Obunse (Queens, NY/Flushing) added 12 points, while junior guard Nana Oteng (Queens, NY/Martin Luther) had 11 points with three assists. Senior guard Jahmr Jordan (Albany, NY/Albany) led the Wolves with seven rebounds, six assists, a steal and had four points in the game.
