UTICA, N.Y. – Russell Sage College fell 3-2 in the first round of the Empire 8 Conference Championship Tournament this afternoon at Utica.

The Gators (6-10), seeded fifth, erased a pair of single-goal deficits to tie before dropping their postseason debut.

With 13:14 remaining in regulation, forward Shannon Jedreicich, a grad student, registered her second goal of the day to put the Pioneers, the four seed, ahead for the third time.

RSC earned three corners and took four shots in its attempt to tie it, including two shots and one corner during the final 90 seconds. The Gators out-shot Utica 16-10 this afternoon.

The Pioneers (7-10) will face top-seeded Saint John Fisher in the Semifinals on Thursday.
