Second Half Comeback Attempt Falls Short in Home Opener

ALBANY, N.Y. – Russell Sage College trimmed a 3-0 halftime deficit to two on three occasions, including twice in the fourth quarter, of this morning's 5-3 loss to visiting SUNY Brockport.

Forward Sara O'Connor (Rexford, NY/Niskayuna), a grad student, topped RSC in its home opener with two goals and an assist, while midfielder Amy Stevens (Castle Creek, NY/Whitney Point), a grad student, added a pair of assists.

Sophomore goalkeeper Jaia Caron (Bellows Falls, VT/Bellows Falls Union) (Loss, 0-2) stopped 13 Golden Eagle shots, including six in the opening period.

Junior forward Emmalee Moore and junior midfielder/forward Paige Thowe paced SUNY Brockport (4-0) with two goals apiece.

The Gators (0-2) are back in action on Thursday at 6:00 pm vs. Dean.
