Rob Bray steps down as Women's Lacrosse Coach

Albany, NY — Russell Sage College's director of athletics James Lyons has announced that Rob Bray has stepped down as head women's lacrosse coach, effective immediately. A national search will commence to find a new coach for the Gator women's lacrosse program.

"We are so thankful to Rob for his contributions and successes as our women's lacrosse coach," commented Lyons. He added, "We wish him continued success as he begins a new challenge professionally."

Russell Sage College's women's lacrosse team wrapped their 2023 under the guidance of Rob Bray and had several honors bestowed to the program over the course of the season. RSC went 5-8 overall and went 2-5 in the Empire 8.

As a team, the Gators ranked 28th nationally averaging 24.31 ground ball pick-ups per game, while also ranking 67th in free position percentage having converted 0.473 of their free position goals. RSC was also 86th having averaged 10.38 caused turnovers per contest.

In addition, RSC was recognized by the IWLCA also announced the 2023 Division III Academic Honor Squad. RSC was among the programs honored this year. The IWLCA has named 287 schools across Division I, II, III, and NAIA as IWLCA Academic Honor Squads for the 2023-24 academic year. To qualify for this prestigious honor, the women's lacrosse team must have posted a 3.2 or higher team GPA for the academic year. Bray also had six players saluted for their outstanding performances in the classroom by the IWLCA.
