SEVERAL RSC STUDENTS HONORED FOR ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE BY NFHCA
BROCKPORT, N.Y. — Russell Sage College's field hockey program had several student-athletes honored by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association in conjunction with their slate of academic awards.
For the third straight year, the Gators were also earned the NFHCA National Academic Team Award.
This year, over 2,050 student-athletes from more than 140 Division III institutions earned recognition on the 2020 NFHCA Division III National Academic Squad.
The Division III National Academic Squad program honors student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.3 or higher through the first semester of the 2020-2021 academic year.
Johns Hopkins University led all institutions with the most National Academic Squad selections, placing 28 student-athletes on the list. Haverford College and the University of Rochester tied for the second-most honorees — each institution had 27 student-athletes recognized.
RSC's field hockey program had nine student-athletes named to the team. They include

Alyssa Fitzgerald (Sophomore, Queensbury, NY/Queensbury)
Abigayle Greier (Junior, Elma, NY/Iroquois Central)
Alexandra Lettre (Junior, Kingston, NY/Kingston)
Madalyn Milligan (Sophomore, Canastota, NY/Canastota)
Sydney Ottoman (Freshman, Red Hook, NY/Red Hook)
Kyndra Riche (Sophomore, Salem, NY/Salem Washington Academy)
Jennifer Stuart (Sophomore, Scotia, NY/Scotia-Glenville)
Mia Unverzagt (Sophomore, Ellenville, NY/Evansville)
In addition, RSC had three student-athletes also named as NFHCA Division III Scholar of Distinction.
For the Gators, Abigayle Greier, Madalyn Milligan, and Mia Unverzagt were all saluted as the trio were all repeat honorees from 2019-2020, while Greier is now a three-time honoree.
