Sage women's cross country team picks up another fifth place finish while competing at MSMC

Milton, NY – The Sage Colleges' women's cross country squad was in action on Saturday competing at the Mt. St. Mary College Invitational. On the women's side, Sage's team picked up a fifth place team finish in a field of 20 complete teams.  

St. Joseph's College (LI) won the women's race with their score of 28, while the Sage women combined for 164 points and took home fifth place. Leading the way for the Gator women's team in the 5 k race was rookie Ilenis Quinones (Amsterdam, NY/Amsterdam) as she posted a time of 22:09 and finished in 17th place overall. Junior Amanda Millington (Chestertown, NY/North Warren) was next taking 22nd in 22:09. Senior Alaina Krueger (Selkirk, NY/Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk) picked up 33rd in 22:52, while rookie Sabrena Smith (Woodburne, NY/Tri-Valley Central) posted a time of 23:07 to take 36th place.

Junior Megan Lugo (West Nyack, NY/Clarkstown South) added a 55th place finish in 23:59, while sophomore Lauren Belfast (Ilion, NY/Ilion) picked up 71st place in 24:57. Sophomore Morgan Rush (Troy, NY/Averill Park) added a time of 25:33 to take 79th, while junior Ellyn Fisher (Queensbury, NY/Queensbury) took home 96trh in 25:41.

Sage's women's team is back in action on October 18 travelling to the Green Mountain College with an 11 a.m. start for the women's race.
