Springfield, MA –The Sage College's women's outdoor track and field team competed at the 2015 Eastern College Athletic Conference Division III Championship at Springfield College on Friday. Sage's senior Helen Putriment (Troy, NY/Cobleskill-Richmondville) became the young Gator program's first ECAC qualifier and competitor with her efforts this spring in the high jump.

She was seeded seventh entering the championship with her qualifying effort of 1.62 meters, a Sage school record. She tallied a jump of 1.55 meters in the first round, but did not qualify for the finals and finished tied for 14th place with her efforts.

In her first season on Sage's track and field team, Putriment became the program's first woman to win an event as she picked up a first place in high jump at the Capital District Championship at RPI with a school-record performance of 1.59 meters. She won the event, marking the first victory by a Sage female track and field performer in the two year history of the team. She was in a jump off with SUNY-Delhi's Nina Zesky and won with her ECAC Division III qualifying mark of 1.59 meters, another Sage program first.

She bettered her mark with a performance of 1.62 meters at the Matthew Vassar Twighlight Meet. She is first two-time event winner for the young Gator program.
