Gators compete with elements at Capital District Championships

Troy, NY— Sages' men's outdoor track and field team competed at the Capital District Championship hosted by RPI.

For the Gator men's team, they finished in fifth place in the 4 x 100 relay with a time of 45.12  after the efforts of  rookie Ramosaj Williams (Hyde Park, NY/Franklin D. Roosevelt), junior Arnoldo Burnett (Bronx, NY/John F. Kennedy), rookie Tyler Mitchell (Bronx, NY/All Hallows), and sophomore Ellis Richardson (Hudson, NY/Hudson).

Richardson was 11th in the 400 meter run with a time of 54.05. Senior captain Jarryd Wick (Ayers, MA/E.F. Parker School) was 38th in the 1,500 meter run in 4:59.18.

Williams took 13th in the 100 meter dash in 11.98 and 12th in the 200 meter run with a time of 23.88. In the 200 meter run, Burnett added a 17th place showing in the 24.60, while also taking home 14th in the 100 in 12.24. Mitchell finished the 100 meter run in 12.32 to take 16th, just ahead of Richardson who recorded a time of 12.37 and took 17th.

Junior Arnoldo Burnett (Bronx, NY/John F. Kennedy) finished in `7th in the 200 meter run in 24.60.

Sage's team will be back in action on May 3-4 at the 2019 Empire 8 Championships which will be hosted by Houghton College.
