Russ Hesselton (Altamont, NY) is in his third season as an assistant tennis coach. He has worked with both the women's and men's tennis teams at Sage and has helped the women's team earn a spot in post-season play in 2016.

A graduate of Marist College, Hesselton earned his bachelor of arts degree in communication art in 1982. Hesselton arrives at Sage after most recently serving as the varsity tennis coach at Catholic Central High School, a position he has held since 2010. He holds is a PTR certification which her earned in 1995 and has served as a tennis pro at Tri-City Racquet Club since 1992.

A sponsored player on the International Wheelchair Pro Tennis Tour, he is a member of the USTA, ITF, ATP, and WTPA. He has been very active with the Eastern Paralyzed Veterans Association/United Spinal Association and has held numerous positions within the organization from secretary, board member, vice president, president, and chairman from 1993-2010.
