SAGE GOLFERS STAND IN FOURTH AFTER FIRST DAY OF 2019 EMPIRE 8 FALL CHAMPIONSHIPS
Hamilton, NY—The Sage Colleges' men's golf team opened action on Saturday at the 2019 Empire 8 Men's Golf Championship taking place at Colgate University's Seven Oaks Golf Course, a par 72 6,915 yard course.
Utica has the team lead heading into the club house after the first day with a 313, while Sage is in fourth place with a 344. Oswego's Erik Scheicher in the leader after day one having shots a 71.
For the Gator , junior Blake Pritchard (Malone, NY/Franklin Academy) is tied for 16th with an 83. Rookie Connor Affinito (Queensbury, NY/Queensbury) added an 84 and is tied for 18th place overall.
Sophomore golfer Stuart Phair (Canberra, Australia/Trinity Christian School) had another impressive round and is tied for 23rd with an 88. Senior Tyler Schnaible (Ballston Lake, NY/Shenendehowa) shot an 89 and is in 26th place.
Senior Jared Almy (Howes Cave, NY/Cobleskill-Richmondville) finished in with 93 and is 28th after day one, while Aidan O'Neil (Canajoharie, NY/Canajoharie) added a 120 and is in 33rd place.
The Fall championship wraps on Sunday at the Seven Oaks Golf Course in Hamilton, NY.
