ABOUT THE FORDS: The Haverford College Fords (23-3) enter the NCAA Tournament for the first time in school history. Riding a six-game winning streak, the Centennial Conference champions tallied the program’s first 20-win season. Senior Nina Voith, Haverford’s all-time leading scorer, paces the Fords with 14.5 points per game. Junior Elizabeth Lynch adds 13.1 and classmate Jacquelyne Pizzuto 9.1 points per contest. Pizzuto, who ranks 19th nationally with an assist-to-turnover ratio of 2.32, leads Haverford with 95 assists. Four Fords average better than 5.0 rebounds per game, with senior Rachel Baskin grabbing a team-best 5.7. Lynch and Baskin have 45 and 44 steals on the year. Haverford peppers the national rankings sitting 10th with a field-goal percentage defense of 32.2 and 11th with a scoring defense of 51.3. The Fords average 39.0 percent shooting from the floor and 73.6 percent at the foul line.

ABOUT THE BOMBERS: The Ithaca College Bombers (23-4) won their third consecutive Empire 8 Championship Tournament claiming their 11th trip to the NCAA Tournament. On a 15-game winning streak, Ithaca is paced by senior Mary Kate Tierney and classmates Kathryn Campbell and Jenn Escobido. Tierney, who owns the program record for 3-pointers with 63, leads the team with 13.5 points per game, while Campbell and Escobido add 11.1 each. With 11 double-doubles this season, Tierney has a Bomber-best 8.6 boards per contest. Escobido follows with 5.4 and junior Francesca Cotrupe 5.1. Tierney has a dished out 98 assists and junior Samantha Klie 93. Tierney has made 45 steals and Escobido 42. Named the E8 Tournament MVP, Tierney also adds a team-high 25 blocks. Ithaca is converting 43.6 percent of its field goals and 68.7 percent of its free throws, while outrebounding opponents by 8.6 per game. The Bombers rank third nationally with an assist-to-turnover ratio of 1.30.

ABOUT THE ANCHORWOMEN: The Rhode Island College Anchorwomen (20-8) won the Little East Conference title to enter the NCAA Tournament for the fourth time in program history and the second time in the last three seasons. Its fourth 20-win season, Rhode Island College is led by sophomore Vandell Andrade who averages a double-double of 14.2 points and 12.1 rebounds per game. Named Most Outstanding Player of the Little East Conference Championship, she adds team-best numbers of 85 steals and 50 blocks, while shooting a team-high 56.6 percent from the floor. Seniors Stephanie Prusko and Cara Paladino average 11.8 and 11.5 points, respectively. Paladino pulls down 6.9 rebounds per contest. Classmate Danielle LeBlanc and rookie Alex Moore have each dished out 72 assists on the season. The Anchorwomen have hit 39.7 percent of their shots and are shooting 69.9 percent at the charity stripe. RIC is outscoring opponents by 8.1 points per game.

ABOUT THE GATORS: The Sage Colleges Gators (17-9) recorded their 17th win of the season, a single-season school record, with a victory in the Skyline Conference championship. The win locked in the Gators’ first trip to the NCAA Tournament in program history. Junior Megan Bowman, the Most Outstanding Player of the Skyline Conference Tournament, posts a team-best 12.8 points per game. Frankie Pearson, Skyline Rookie of the Year, and sophomore Sara Tironin follow with 9.0 points apiece. Tironin leads Sage converting 47.3 percent from the floor. Bowman has squad-high numbers of 140 assists and 72 steals. Junior Amie Jefferson leads rebounding efforts with 7.1 boards a game to go with a Gator-best 24 blocks. Outscoring opponents by 6.3 points per contest, Sage makes good on 36.9 percent of its shots and 66.9 percent of its free throws. The Gators have won four straight and nine of their last 12 contests.
