HILTON, N.Y. – Russell Sage College sophomore runner Elizabeth Ingellis (Kingston, NY/Kingston) enjoyed a banner weekend as she was the champion at the 2022 Steven A. Warde Invitational, hosted by SUNY Cobleskill, on Saturday morning. She won the 6 k distance course with a time of 24:54.36 and bested the field of 48 runners.
For her efforts, she was saluted as this week's Empire 8 Runner of the Week. In the opening week of the 2022 season, Ingellis also was the champion at RPI's Fall Kickoff race turning in the top time for the 3 k course as she had a time of 11:35.
She is coming a banner rookie campaign with the Gators having earned Empire 8 Third Team honors after taking home 20th place at the league's championship and was also chosen for the Empire 8 Sportswomen Team.
The Gators will be back in action on September 24 when they travel to Oneonta State to compete in the Airfield Invitational, which commences at 10 a.m.
