Sage women runners record 3rd place showing at Knight Invitational in crowded field of 23 teams

Newburgh, NY— Sage's women's cross country team travelled to the Hudson Valley Sports Dome to race at the 12th annual Mt. St. Mary College Knight Invitational. On the women's side, Sage finished in third place in the team standings in a field of 23 teams. 

Sage's sophomore Kerry Flower (Schenecactady, NY/Schalmont) finished with an impressive time of 25:06.4 to take home third place in the field of 181 runners.

USMMA won the women's team title with a score of 31, while SUNY-Cobleskill took second with 116 and Sage finished in third with 131.

Rookie Evelyn Gile (Ballston Lake, NY/Shenendehowa) picked up 19th in 26:38.2, while sophomore Kristin McAlonen (Burnt Hills, NY/Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake) was the next Sage finisher in 21st in 26:56.2. Senior team captain Amanda Jones (West Sand Lake, NY/Columbia) took 23rd in 27:01.7, while junior Sophia Keravich (Barrington, NH/Oyster River) finished in 64th in 29:51.3.

Freshman Morgan Feisthamel (Glenfield, NY/South Lewis) added a time of 32:45.9 and took 87th, while senior Joanna Tavolaro (Broadalbin, NY/Broadalbin Perth) posted a time of 34:56.5 and finished in 105th. Sophomore Giannah French (Cherry Plain, NY/Berlin) took home 4142nd in 37:53.2 to help the Gators to the impressive team and individual race showings.

Sage's teams will be back in action on October 12 competing at the Westfield State University James Earley Invitational
