New York, NY– The Sage Colleges' women's cross country team member sophomore Shannon Farrell (Indian Lake, NY/Indian Lake Central) was honored as the Skyline Conference Rookie Runner of the Week. The honor is the third weekly award for the Gator newcomer.

This past week, she helped lead the Sage women's team to an impressive third place team showing at the ninth annual Mt. St. Mary College Knights' Invitational held at the Sports Dome in Milton. 

Running a longer course than previous weeks, Farrell was once again the top finisher for the Gators as she ran a time of 26:13 for the course and took home a seventh place showing. She was the top finishing Skyline Conference runner in the meet.  

Farrell has now been honored by the Skyline Conference three times this fall, having earned Runner of the Week on September 12 and Rookie of the Week status again on September 19.

Sage will be back in action on Saturday, October 15 when they travel to Massachusetts to compete at the Golden Bear Invitational at Western New England University.
