Gator Harriers Race to Fifth Place at SUNY-Cobleskill Invitational

Cobleskill, NY–The Sage Colleges' women's cross country squad competed on Saturday in the Stephen Warde Invitational hosted by SUNY-Cobleskill. In the women's race, Union College just edged out the host Wildcats as they won the race with a team score of 20, while Cobleskill combined for a 63. Sage's women's team posted an impressive fifth place showing (57 points) in the nine team field.

In the women's race, Cobleskill's Taylor Tommell won the race with her time of 19:21.96 for the 5 K Course. Sage's sophomore Shannon Farrell (Indian Lake, NY/Indian Lake Central) was the team's top finisher for the second straight week as she took home a fifth place finish in 20:07.71.

Sophomore Rachael Pratt (Schenectady, NY/Schalmont) finished in 16th in 21:23.79, while rookie Amanda Jones (West Sand Lake, NY/Columbia) placed 19th in 21:33.61. Senior Hannah Tighe (East Greenwich, RI/East Greenwich) picked up 36th in 23:10.12.

Sophomore Sagan Leggett (Valatie, NY/Ichabod Crane) posted a time of 23:20.42 to take 40th, while senior Lauren Belfast (Ilion, NY/Ilion) picked up 41st in 23:26.23. Sophomore Julia Skoda (Philmont, NY/Taconic Hills) added a 66th place performance in 27:17.54, while senior Melissa Grimaldi (Nassau, NY/Columbia) rounded out Sage's competitors in 74th place in 29:09.56.

Sage returns to action on September 17 when they compete at the Bard College Invitational at Noon.
