Sage women's team wraps campaign at NCAA Regionals

Mt. Morris, NY –The Sage women's cross country teams was in action at the 2015 NCAA Division III Atlantic Regionals at Letchworth State Park. In the women's race, the Gators picked up a 32nd place team finish in a field of 37 complete teams.

In the women's 6,000 k race, St. Lawrence University's sophomore Megan Kellogg won the race with her time of 21:44.6, while the host SUNY Geneseo squad took the team crown with a score of 75 on the day.   

Sage's junior Hannah Tighe (East Greenwich, RI/East Greenwich) led the way again for the Gators on Saturday with her 180th place finish in 26:20.1, while senior Amanda Millington (Chestertown, NY/North Warren) closed her career as the team's second scorer with her 197th place showing in 27:02.5. Junior Lauren Belfast (Ilion, NY/Ilion) added a 211st place finish in 27:55.0, while freshman Sagan Leggett (Valatie, NY/Ichabod Crane) finished in 214th in 28:12.7.

Also competing in her final meet was senior Ellyn Fisher (Queensbury, NY/Queensbury) as she placed 215th in 28:30.9. Taking 222nd for Sage was senior Ashley Maresca (Brant Lake, NY/North Warren Central) as she posted a time of 29:08.9 in her final race as a Gator. Rookie Hannah French (Berlin, NY/Berlin) rounded out the Sage competitors as she placed 235th in 30:27.5.
