Sage's women's cross country squad caps season at NCAA Regionals

Rochester, NY– The Sage Colleges' women's cross country team was in action on Saturday at the 2014 NCAA Division III Regionals at Genesee Valley Park. St. Lawrence University took home the women's championship crown and punched its ticket to the upcoming NCAA Division III National Championship.  Sage's women's team finished in 34th place in a field of 41 complete teams.  

Leading the way for the Gator women's team in the 6 k race was rookie Ilenis Quinones (Amsterdam, NY/Amsterdam) as she posted a time of 25:38.8 and finished in 179th place, capping her highly successful first season.   Freshman Sabrena Smith (Woodburne, VT/Tri-Valley Central) was next for the Gators in 207th place with a time of 26:56.1.

Senior Alaina Krueger (Selkirk, NY/Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk) picked up 214th place in 27:16.67, while sophomore Morgan Rush (Troy, NY/Averill Park) added a time of 29:58.1 and finished in 248th place.  Junior Kayla Hartman (Sugar Land, TX/Stephan Austin) took 250th place in 30:03.5, while junior Ellyn Fisher (Queensbury, NY/Queensbury) also ran and finished in 253rd in a time of 30:24.6.
