Quinones named Skyline Rookie of the Year as she picks up 6th at Skyline Meet as Gators finish in third

Milton, NY – The Sage Colleges' women's cross country team was in action on Sunday at the 2014 Skyline Conference Cross Country Championships. Sage's women's team finishes in third place. In the women's race, St. Joseph's College won the team crown after scoring 20 for the day, while MSMC took second with a 79 and Sage finished in third with a score of 92.

Leading the way for the Gator women's team in the 5 k race was rookie Ilenis Quinones (Amsterdam, NY/Amsterdam) as she posted a time of 21:05.71 and finished in sixth place, taking home Skyline Conference All-Star First Team honors and was also named the 2014 Skyline Conference Women's Cross Country Rookie Runner of the Year.

Junior Amanda Millington (Chestertown, NY/North Warren) was next taking home 15th place in a time of 22:35.21. Rookie Sabrena Smith (Woodburne, NY/Tri-Valley Central) posted a time of 23.07.93 and placed 20th. Senior Alaina Krueger (Selkirk, NY/Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk) picked up 22nd place in 23:17.65, while sophomore Lauren Belfast (Ilion, NY/Ilion) picked up 31st place in 24:13.83. Taking home 37th place was  junior Megan Lugo (West Nyack, NY/Clarkstown South) in 24:35.41.

Sophomore Morgan Rush (Troy, NY/Averill Park) added a time of 25:28.33 and finished in 43rd place. Junior Ellyn Fisher (Queensbury, NY/Queensbury) picked up 44th in 25:42.28. Junior Gillian Braley (Oswego, NY/Irondequoit) added a 61st place showing in 27:46.47, while sophomore Melissa Grimaldi (Nassau, NY/Columbia) picked up 72nd in 29:26.59. Sophomore Allison Hill (Hyde Park, NY/Franklin D. Roosevelt) took home 73rd place in 29:27.53.
