Millington's second place showing highlights Sage's runner-up team finish

Purchase, NY – The Sage Colleges' women's cross country team were in action on Saturday competing at the Purchase College Invitational. On the women's side, Sage's team picked up an impressive second place team finish.

MSMC won the women's race with their score of 27 in the field of six complete teams as Sage took home second with a score of 42.  

Leading the way for the Gator women's team was junior Amanda Millington (Chestertown, NY/North Warren) as she was second overall in a time of 21:51.41 for the 5 k course. Rookie Sabrena Smith (Woodburne, NY/Tri-Valley Central) posted a time of 22:50.66 to take home fifth, while senior Alaina Krueger (Selkirk, NY/Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk) picked up 14th in 24:03.53.

Sophomore Elaina Ryan (Averill Park, NY/Averill Park) took home 18th place in 24:46.52, while junior Megan Lugo (West Nyack, NY/Clarkstown South) finished right behind her in 19th in 24:48.97.  Sophomore Lauren Belfast (Ilion, NY/Ilion) added a 33rd place showing with her time of 26:27.72. Sage's final runner, junior Ellyn Fisher (Queensbury, NY/Queensbury) picked up 34th in 26:44.44.

Sage's women's is back in action on September 20 travelling to the Bard College Invitational with a noon start for the women's race.
