Castleton, VT---The Sage Colleges women's and men's cross country teams were in action on Saturday afternoon at the Castleton State College Invitational. Just two meets into the 2013 campaign and Sage's women's team won the meet, while the Sage men picked up fourth place.

The Gator women's squad combined for a score of 46 points to take first place in a field of five teams. Winning the individual crowns was Jessica Monzyk of Albany College of Pharmacy in 21:08.

Pacing the Gators was sophomore Ashley Maresca (Brant Lake, NY/North Warren Central) in 22:09 to take home fourth place. Sophomore Amanda Millington (Chestertown, NY/North Warren) was next in sixth place in 22:25, while sophomore co-captain Alaina Krueger (Selkirk, NY/Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk) picked up seventh place in 22:27.

Rookie Lauren Belfast (Ilion, NY/Ilion) picked up 11th place in 23:30, while was junior co-captain Caitlin Coughlin (Palenville, NY/Catskill) picked up 18th place with her time of 24:27.

Sophomore Sarah Hendley (Selkirk, NY/Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk) posted a time of 24:59 and finished in 23rd place. Next for the Gators was rookie Stephanie Schmidt (Holland Patent, NY/Holland Patent) as she had a time of 25:35 and took home 26th place.

Sage returns to action on September 21 travelling to Bard College for the Raptor Invitational.
