Pair of Women's Volleyball Players Earn Academic All-District Honors

Gray Gagnon Academic All-District

ALBANY, N.Y. – Russell Sage College women's volleyball is represented by two student-athletes: senior defensive specialist Rylie Gray (Bombay, NY/Salmon River Central), and middle hitter Celia Gagnon (Troy, NY/Ichabod Crane), a graduate student, on the 2022 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team.

Gagnon, who earned a degree in psychology from the College in May 2022, is now pursuing a degree in nursing. She made the Empire 8 Conference Presidents' List and the RSC Dean's List multiple times and was a member of the RSC Athletic Honor Society. Gagnon, a second-team All-E8 pick, ranked second in the conference with 364.5 points and 292 kills this fall. She closed the campaign ranked 14th in program records with 583 career kills.

Gray, who majors in health sciences with a path to physical therapy, contributed greatly to the RSC serving, serve receive, and defensive efforts. She registered double-digit digs four times, including a career-high 18 on October 7 vs. MCLA. Gray also made the RSC Dean's List and the Empire 8 Conference Presidents' List on numerous occasions.

The pair will now move onto the national ballot for an opportunity to earn College Sports Communicators Academic All-America acclaim. Academic All-America honorees will be announced in December.
