Women's volleyball players among national statistical leaders

Indianapolis, IN –  Russell Sage College Russell Sage College women's volleyball program had a trio of players among the national statistical leaders for Division III in 2022.

Headlining the list of ranked performers was senior libero/defensive specialist Elaina Moisidis (Albany, NY/Albany), who earlier this season was voted the Empire 8 Conference Libero of the Year.

Moisidis, who also garnered first-team All-Conference status, was one of three Gators to receive All-E8 honors. She totaled 547 digs, 5.21 per-set, 69 assists, and 30 aces in her senior campaign. Moisidis, who registered a 91.2 serve receive percentage, topped the E8 in both digs and digs per-set for the second-straight fall. She currently sits 19th in NCAA Division III rankings in total digs. The co-captain recorded 20 or more digs 14 times this season, including 32 in a four-set September victory at SUNY Delhi. Moisidis, the first Gator to win a major E8 women's volleyball individual award, finished her fall sixth in program records with 1,415 career digs.

She ranked 32nd nationally with her 547 total digs, while her 5.21 digs per average ranked 39th nationally.

Middle hitter Celia Gagnon (Troy, NY/Ichabod Crane), a graduate student, earned second-team All-E8 accolades and capped her 2022 season ranked in three different categories. She was 156th in points (364.5), 204th in total kills (292), and 224th in points per set average (3.47). Gagnon ranked second in the conference with 364.5 points and 292 kills on .250 hitting. She totaled 60 blocks, third-most in the E8, and finished the fall fourth on the circuit with 3.5 points per-set. The middle, who became the 18th RSC player to surpass 500 career kills on October 14 vs. Elmira, recorded double-digit kills on 17 occasions this fall. She totaled a season-best 18 kills on October 15 vs. Alfred and closed her campaign ranked 14th in program records with 583 career kills.

Junior setter Statia Walker (Schodack, NY/Maple Hill) was ranked 183rd with her 625 setting assists, while also ranking No. 219 with her 5.95 setting assists per set average. On her 2022 season, she appeared in all 105 sets and closed the fall sixth in program records with 1,283 career assists. She surpassed 1,000 career assists vs. St. John Fisher (9/30). She added 265 digs, 2.52 per-set, with 34 kill, 15 aces and 13 total blocks. Among her 2022 season, highlights, she achieved 14 double-doubles and had 43 assists vs. MCLA (10/7), four aces vs. Nichols (9/16) and had 19 attacks against Union (10/29).
